What is a rewrite conflict?
A rewrite conflict is a situation where you have two separate modules (usually community modules) that are basically extending the same functionality. To get technical on you, they are both rewriting the same core Magento class.
What exactly does that mean?
Well, what that means is that only one of those extensions functionality is actually working – and the others’ is being ignored. The impact of this kind of situation can vary quite a bit depending on the situation.
As a general rule of thumb, if you haven’t noticed any major issues with the site, it may be the case that the functionality being lost is very minor and not noticeable.
It may also be the case that it’s just something that no one on your team has noticed, but it still could be having significant impact.
So what should I do?
